If you enjoy working with seniors and are a great team player who is able to work various shifts, including some weekends. Our Benefit Plan is available to full time positions. 

Butternut Manor is a COVID-19 free facility and has had no outbreaks of any kind for the 2019/2020 season.  All staff are expected to socially isolate when not at work.  

COOK – Part Time & Full Time 7am-5.45pm

  • Cook 1, 2 or 3 designation.
  • Experience in quantity food preparation.
  • Must hold current Safe Food Handlers Certification.
  • Familiar with Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating and therapeutic diets.
  • Ability to direct and supervise others.
  • Ability to understand oral and written directions.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, and stand and walk short distances throughout the day and to tolerate heat from kitchen area.
  • Must be free of communicable diseases.
  • Familiar with Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Occupational Health and Safety, and Sanitation Code.

RN/RPN – WELLNESS NURSE

  • Part Time RPN/RN needed
  • Assists residents in managing their health and independence
  • Medication administration and ongoing health assessments
  • Communicating with family members
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • RPN/RN in good standing with Ont. College of Nurses
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Must be available for all shifts including holidays and weekends
  • Med Techs considered with appropriate Medication Administration qualification

PSW/UCP – Weekends, Stat Holidays and/or Casual

  • Part Time care staff needed  for weekend and casual coverage
  • To provide care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
  • Assistance with personal care and personal hygiene
  • Assistance escorting to/from activities/meals
  • Monitoring dining room at meal times
  • Responds to call bell for urgent needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • PSW Certification or previous experience preferred, but will train as required
  • Kind, caring, flexible and adaptable
  • Must be available for all shifts; days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends
  • Experience with Seniors preferred

DIETARY AIDE

  • Previous food services experience in a retirement residence, long term care residence or other hospitality environment
  • Ability or read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
  • Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
  • Proof of immunization (2-Step TB, Annual Flu Shot)
  • Proof of completed Police Record Check – Vulnerable Sector

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals and providing catering services, ensures work areas are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition and assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors and other staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Must enjoy working with Seniors
  • Must have an outgoing, friendly and positive personality
  • Must be patient and considerate
